Kontakte - Soundtracks For Lost Road Movies

"Soundtracks For Lost Road Movies" is a remarkably apt title for this release.
A cinematic trip where the landscape is awe inspiring and ecstatically ethereal.
Kontakte's music swells and simmers occasionally peaking to Mogwai-esque crescendos of white noise.

Music to wonder at, to close your eyes and slip into a hallucinogenic naturalistic world. This world encompasses the heady ambience of Slowdive and at times it Godspeed's into and detonates Sonic Youth-like walls of dynamic feedback.  Remember the days when Mogwai rocked out and let go? If you still pine for that sound, you are in for one gargantuan treat here.`

The release contains some notable remixes by the likes of Tim Holmes (Death In Vegas) and Chris Olley (Six by Seven). The original compositions are beautifully put together and the remixes add another great dimension and ambience to the overall picture.

Kontakte have only been together for two years and SFLRM, amazingly, is the first full length release from this band. The album shows a depth of musicianship, production and song structure. The journey has just begun for this band and it travels in all the right directions. It's a joy to behold.

If you like your Nu-Gaze with plenty of post Krautrock on the side, then Kontakte will hold your heart with mighty guitars, fluid basses, ambient Keyboards and pounding drum beats.
As the musical journey comes to and end, you are left sitting back in awe. As you start to feel yourself come down, you find you must take the trip again and again.
