Lightsway - Summer Interlude (Distant Noise)
I really didn't know what to expect with this release.
Considering that this is the side project by Winterlight's, Tim Ingham, I was wondering if I was about to hear Winterlight outakes...
Any reservations that I may have had, were calmly put to rest by the music within. Original, emotive and oh, just so bloody merry, I adore it!
This is uplifting stuff. High airy synths and cool breezy melodies creating a musical summer by the sea. Ambient Electronica, standing on its head and Shoegazing at the sea.
I am won over by the fullness and joyous sounds that this CD contains.
Rather than being a stripped down Ambient piece, Summer Interlude has a lot happening sonically and the vibe has left me smiling like a Chesire cat in a fishmongers.
This Distant Noise release is limited to 100 copies. I hope anyone reading this gets one of those copies, as Summer Interlude is the album that could bring the sunshine back to anyone who is left needing the invigorating effects that the British summer lacked this year.
